JM // A-001ABOUT //
One person. Full crew energy.
Filmmaker, music lover, pizza enthusiast, dad of two — and a Yorkshireman who decided to cross the globe and call Vancouver, Canada, home.
I've been shooting and editing professionally since 2012. That's a lot of films, a lot of early starts and probably a questionable amount of coffee. But after all these years, I still love what I do.
I make films. Lots of them.
I'm a freelance filmmaker, director and cinematographer specialising in commercials, brand films, documentaries and Live Events. I also happen to be an advanced drone pilot, so whether we're shooting on the ground or taking things to the sky, I've got it covered.
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, I work with brands, businesses and creative agencies across Canada, the UK and worldwide. From one-off creative projects to full-scale campaigns, I bring the same creative thinking, technical know-how and hands-on experience to every production.

Contact sheet // 10 framesHow I work
Creative thinking. Commercial understanding.
Making something look beautiful is one thing. Making something that actually connects with people is another. I work closely with clients to understand their goals, get to the heart of their message and turn ideas into engaging films that look great and have a purpose.
Concept & Strategy
I get to grips with your brief, understand your goals and develop a creative concept that brings your vision to life and gives the project a clear direction.
Shoot & Create
From directing and cinematography to capturing those all-important details, I bring the concept to life on location and behind the camera — on the ground or in the sky.
Edit & Grade
Pacing, story, sound and the final colour grade. This is where everything comes together, shaping the footage into a polished film that stays true to the original vision.
Deliver & Launch
Finished, polished and ready to go. I supply your film in the right formats for your platforms, campaigns and audience, ready to make its mark.
Make an Impact
The end goal isn't just a great-looking film. It's content that connects with your audience, communicates your message and helps you achieve your objectives.
Scene 07 // Take 1Think of me as a bit like Liam Neeson in Taken except instead of finding people, I've got a very particular set of filmmaking skills...
So, what are we making?
I'm always up for working with good people on interesting projects. Alongside an agency, bringing a brand campaign to life, smashing through an edit for you to meet that deadline, or just something a little more out of the ordinary. If you want an experienced filmmaker who cares about the details, understands the bigger picture and doesn't take himself too seriously, we should probably have a chat.
Just don't ask me to choose between a new lens and a good pizza. That's a decision I'm not qualified to make.
